Security on your computer

Many people choose simple passwords of just words in a dictionary and, if that is not bad enough, they often use the same password in different places so once broken into everything is at risk.

Any password of a word in a dictionary can be broken very quickly as there are programs that can run through the whole dictionary in seconds.

The best way to solve this problem is to use a Password Manager app.

Personally I use 1Password which is one of the best out there. It is NOT free but it is highly effective.

When you download 1Password you are asked for a Master Password which is the only password you need to remember. The app even helps you save that Master Password safely. You create an account and each browser can take an extension that makes using 1Password simple. If you use Safari, a Chrome based browser like Chrome, Brave, Comet, Vivaldi or if you se Firefox, extensions are available.

When you vist a website, 1Password will know it is genuine and not a fake and will input the username and password.

For new websites, It will need to be entered into 1Password and it will generate a complex password that you do not need to memorise.

1Password will notify you if a password is used in more than one website.

1Password will store all your cards, amd important files too.

Why not give it a try: https://1password.com/. This is not a sponsored promotion. I get nothing from this if you buy.
