There are several athletes that represent a country other than their birth country. This issues has come up as one athlete born in the US decided she wanted to represent China at the recent Winter Olympics and Trump and Vance went beserk.
Eileen Gu, born in the USA chose to represent the country of her mother, China back in 2019.
At the 2026 Winter Olympics she won Gold in the Halfpipe, and Silver in Big Air and Slopestyle.
Typical of Trump and Vance, they ignore foreigners who chose to represent the US but not the other way around.
